Yellow Dragonfly

This is a pond we have in the backyard. For the last eight years, we grew lilies of different varieties in it. The last time we cleaned it, we forgot to keep the lilies soaking in water.  Needless to say, we have an empty pond at the present time. 2004 was the beginning of our digital photography business.  This was also the year we bought the Nikon D70 camera.  My husband took this photograph. He had an obsession with photographing dragonflies. I heard him tell friends he would come from work and wait in the pond for hours, with water up to his knees, for the right moment to digitize the dragonflies.  They are not easy to photograph, especially with a close-up lens.
